One of the most beautiful botanical gardens to visit is the Los Angeles Arboretum. Here you can spend the day exploring multiple areas of the garden and also taking some time to create a piece of artwork. I have spent the last few years here exploring many areas of the garden finding that perfect spot in mother nature to sit and take it all in while painting. My favorite is the north end of the garden in the eucalyptus tree area (especially after a rain).
With being out in nature anywhere you are, its such a great opportunity to meet new people and share and discuss how great artwork is for you as a person mentally and educational it is for the recipient. The wildlife is something else to take into effect as well when going outdoors to create, even in a park you may encounter a blue jay or little squirrel, having this interaction is good for anybody (just as long as they don’t bite).
The Los Angeles Arboretum is my second home, the people that attend regularly hold a special place in my heart. I love surprising them with a new creation whenever I come across their paths through the year. Always something new and different is happening at the Arboretum. I encourage anybody who is interested to not be shy and feel free to ask about being part of such a beautiful environment. The Los Angeles Arboretum does offer classes for painting and can direct you in the right direction with the arts. A link to their website is here
